Job Description
|
|
|
Position Summary:
The Database Administrator (based in the Chicago office) provides
project coordination and program support for Food Export - Midwest and
Food Export – Northeast’s CRM database internally referred to as the
Export Marketing Resource System (EMRS). The Administrator is
responsible for the maintenance of the system as well as: development of
reports for all program areas, data analysis, training for all staff
and member states, and management of database vendors. Maintains a
positive work atmosphere in all activities by performing and
communicating in a cooperative manner with members, clients, co-workers
and staff.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supervises and supports all aspects of the database and associated projects and ensures maximum utilization by all stakeholders
- Develops a long term Strategic Plan for the EMRS system.
- Organizes and prioritizes all customization requests from the program areas.
- Monitors budget
- Manages vendors / contractors
- Provides Help Desk support and training as needed to all users
- Maintains procedures
- Maintain Food Export’s website architecture utilizing the content management system (CMS Plus).
- Provides data analysis and reporting for all program areas
- Creates and disseminates monthly data integrity reports
- Develops, tracks and regularly reports on performance measures related to the database
- Analyze program data and provide program managers with performance metrics information
- Proactively develops reports and analysis for programs and projects
- Regular audits of usage by each program area
- Works with all program staff to create and maintain queries and reports within the database.
- Coordinates regular training with all users
- Develops and implements training plans for all users of the database.
- Schedules regular training opportunities via webinar, phone, and conferences
- Highlights all new features of the system on a regular basis

Requirements
|
|
|
|
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or
related field is required. Master’s degree in related field preferred.
Work Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience with SQL database technologies, specifically
Association Management Systems (AMS) such as Avectra’s netFORUM
Enterprise, iMIS or similar.
- 5+ years’ experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, report
writing and deployment in Visual Studio, SQL scripting in MS SQL Server
2005 or later (currently using SQL Server 2008).
- Familiarity with HTML, Adobe ColdFusion, JavaScript, Single-Sign-On (SSO), and CSS is desired.
- Previous experience with data mining techniques and concepts

- Must have a solid understanding of the technologies and solutions possible
- Requires strong customer service orientation, problem management,
user requirements analysis and process, diagnostic questioning
techniques, and service-level development
- Budget management experience
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently is needed
- Ability to quickly understand and lead the programming or implementation of new database projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, problem solving and data mining skills
- Self-motivated, a self-starter
- Well-organized, detail-oriented
- Effective presentation skills
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment.
- This position requires light duty physical work, conducting general
office duties, participation in trade shows, and market promotions.
- Requirements include carrying multiple files and printed materials. Some domestic travel may be required.
