I just wanted to take a minute and tell everyone how our upgrade to netforum 2010 went this weekend. I think we are the second client to go live on the new system. In a nutshell - GOOD! More pertinent details...we have very few customizations and no crystal reports, so it was a given that our upgrade would be easy. However, I wanted to share our experience in case it helps others know where to start with testing, since these are proven issues.
We were part of the Beta program and started testing in September. We have an internal Wiki of SOPs and used that as a checklist for testing. The issues we found were not detrimental to the system, and were easily fixed. When we upgraded our test site, we found more issues, but again - nothing detrimental and nothing unfixable.
The upgrade was performed over the weekend and we've had several stressful issues today. The major one was that a baseline xweb integration stopped working. I have no idea why, but our registration xweb connection was not able to log in. All we had to do was reset the password and all was well. This also happened during testing, but for some reason needed to be reset on the live site as well.
The others issues are:
- Our custom invoice report is not running (worked fine and still does on the test site but produces an error on the live site)
- Some of the module overview screens produced errors. You could navigate through the module using the top menus, but the overview screen wouldn't load. Thanh fixed this in minutes. This also happened during testing.
- There are problems with the RichText Editor in eweb, we switched to CuteEditor. I'm not sure what the permanent fix for this will be, but for now CuteEditor will work for us, although I can't remember why I chose RichText Editor over Cute...
- The Validate address button is not showing on "edit name and address". Shame on me - I didn't notice this on the Test site during testing.
All in all, these are not issues which would have held us back from upgrading and I'm sure all of them can be resolved. There will probably be more which arise, but I feel pretty confident we'll be ok.
And how cool is this Onyx view???
